Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the area, bringing strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Homeowners observed large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly one thousand households in Victoria also experienced energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Wyndham region - over 175 calls for assistance
At one point on Sunday, over 28k energy customers in the state were without power.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
